Heirloom portraits preserve the little details you'll want to remember long after childhood has changed.
These timeless portraits focus on your child's unique features and personality, creating artwork that feels just as meaningful twenty years from now as it does today.
Perfect for children ages 1–8, heirloom portraits are especially popular for milestone birthdays, sibling portraits, and gifts for parents and grandparents.

Long after the toys are packed away and childhood has become a memory, these portraits remain.
They hang in hallways, are passed from one generation to the next, and become part of your family's story.
That's the beauty of heirloom portraits.
They aren't created for a season.
They're created for generations.

Simple, timeless clothing allows the focus to stay exactly where it belongs, on your child.
I'll provide wardrobe guidance before your session, and select client wardrobe pieces may be available depending on size.

Children don't need to sit perfectly still or smile on command.
Whether your child is shy, busy, serious, or full of energy, I'll gently guide the session while capturing the expressions that make them uniquely them.

After your session, you'll choose how you'd like to enjoy your portraits. Many families select custom framed heirloom artwork designed to be displayed in their homes today and treasured by future generations.

Heirloom portraits are most popular for children ages 1–8, but younger and older children are welcome. These timeless children's portraits are designed to capture this season before it quietly changes.
Simple, classic clothing photographs best for heirloom portraits. White, cream, soft blue, and neutral tones work beautifully. You'll receive a wardrobe guide before your session, and client wardrobe pieces may be available depending on your child's size.
Children don't need to sit perfectly still or smile on command to create beautiful heirloom portraits. Some children are shy, some are full of energy, and some need a little time to warm up, and that's completely normal. After raising three boys and photographing children for over 15 years, I've learned how to gently guide each child at their own pace while keeping the experience relaxed and enjoyable. Some of my favorite portraits have come from those quiet, in-between moments when a child's true personality shines through.
Yes. We can often create both individual heirloom portraits and a sibling portrait during the same visit.
Most heirloom portrait sessions take approximately 15–20 minutes per child. The goal is not to keep children in front of the camera for a long time, but to create timeless portraits with simple posing and genuine expressions.
After your session, you’ll view your edited gallery and choose framed art, fine art prints, or digital images.
Heirloom portrait sessions take place in my studio just outside Decatur, Mississippi. I photograph families throughout Central Mississippi, including Meridian, Jackson, Brandon, Madison, Laurel, and surrounding areas.
I typically book heirloom portrait sessions 2–3 months in advance, especially during the fall season. Because I only accept a limited number of sessions each month, early booking is recommended.
Occasionally, I can accommodate last-minute openings, so it never hurts to ask.
