HELLO!

Thank you for allowing me the incredible privilege of photographing your precious newborn during their first few weeks of life. Newborn photography is my true passion, and I feel truly blessed to be able to capture these little miracles.

My studio is located at my home:

3819 Decatur-Conehatta Rd
Decatur, MS 39327

I look forward to creating beautiful memories with you and your family!

Directions to Studio

GPS does not take you to exactly the right location... close, but not exact. Make sure to watch the mailbox numbers.

At the stop light in Decatur on Hwy 15 turn west towards down-town. Drive through town and past ECCC. As you go over the railroad tacks this will turn into Decatur Conehatta Road. We are just over 5 miles west of town on the left. Our house is difficult to see from the road.

If you feel lost give me a call at 601-479-6164.

What to Expect - For Baby

Before the shoot, please feed your baby as you normally would. If you need to feed again once you arrive, that’s absolutely fine. To help with the session, try to keep your baby awake beforehand—give them a bath, let them kick around in just a diaper, or tickle their toes. I understand this can be challenging, and if your baby falls asleep on the way over, don’t worry! Just relax, and we’ll work with whatever happens to capture the best moments.

The studio will be around 80 degrees for the session, so I recommend dressing comfortably for the warmth. I’ll be dressed for a few warm (even hot!) hours, and I suggest you wear layers to stay comfortable.

Sessions typically last between 1-2 hours. To help ensure a sleepy baby, it’s helpful to be prepared to nurse or bottle-feed on and off throughout the session. This will help keep your little one relaxed and ready for those sweet, sleepy moments.

If possible, please bring a pacifier, even if you haven’t used a pacifier before, it can really help during the session, especially for posing. Please avoid pacifiers with attached lovies.

Remember, your baby will lead the session. I’ll capture photos of them asleep or awake, swaddled or lightly covered—whichever they’re most comfortable with. The session is all about letting your baby’s preferences guide us.

What to Wear - For Mom & Dad

Mom & Dad play an important role in the session, and capturing the connection between you and your baby is one of my favorite parts of the shoot.

Dads: Please wear a well-fitting, neutral-colored t-shirt, henley, or button-up shirt, paired with khakis.

Moms: Opt for a loose-fitting blouse or a beautiful dress in neutral tones. Make sure to keep nail polish neutral or remove it, as your hands may appear in some of the images. Rest assured, I aim to capture you in the most flattering light and angles, highlighting the natural beauty of your family.

What to Wear - For Siblings

Including older siblings in your newborn’s portraits is a wonderful way to document this fleeting time in your family’s life.

Sisters: Please bring a simple dress or beautiful blouse in neutral colors. I ask that girls’ hair be kept natural (or in braids) and free of large bows. Just like with mom, please avoid nail polish.

Brothers: Opt for a pair of neutral-colored pants, shorts, or jeans and a neutral-colored top without a collar. If he prefers to go shirtless, that’s absolutely adorable too!

Also, please remove any temporary tattoos before the session to keep the focus on your little ones’ natural beauty.

A Few Additional Thoughts

If siblings will be joining the session, please bring a quiet toy for them to play with. We’ll start with sibling and family shots, so it’s a great idea to arrange for them to be picked up or treated to something special with dad while we finish up with the baby.

You’re also encouraged to bring a snack and drink for both yourself and your children to keep everyone comfortable during the session. If siblings won’t be in the pictures, it’s best to have them stay home with a sitter so we can focus on the newborn session.

It is my sincere hope that you arrive at the studio feeling comfortable and at home. I am truly honored to have the opportunity to document this incredible time in your lives and look forward to getting to know you and your sweet baby. This is a special experience, and I’m excited to capture these precious moments for you to cherish forever.

Healthcare

Please know I am taking every precaution  to reduce the spread of COVID or other illnesses and I ask you to do the same.

I wash my hands thoroughly before and after each session.

The studio is deep cleaned before and after each session. Every backdrop, wrap and prop used during the session is washed.

I will only be scheduling one session every other day to ensure 48 hours between clients.

If you or anyone in your family has been sick I ask you reschedule your session until your doctor gives you the all clear.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!
